Laura Newman spent almost fifteen years focused on different aspects of the accounting and financial services industries. Most recently, Ms. Newman was a Director in Prime Brokerage Sales at UBS offering multi-strategy hedge funds financing solutions (2007-2011). Prior to that, Ms. Newman was a Director on the Media Investment Banking team at UBS responsible for sector coverage across all media verticals including diversified entertainment, satellites, cable, publishing, information services and digital media (2003-2007). Ms. Newman began her career at Ernst & Young LLP where she worked in the Assurance and Advisory Business (1997-1999) and Transaction Advistory Services (1999-2001).
Ms. Newman is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and is FINRA Series 7 and 63 registered. Ms. Newman graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Business Administration in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and earned an MBA from Columbia Business School where she was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society.
